Objectives: To provide teachers with multisensory and manipulative-based strategies for teaching addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division as well as money skills and time.

*This is not a program -it is meant only to supplement the math program in the schools. There is some difference in the terms used but conceptually, it will work. Lastly, participants must attend both days.

Materials: Math kit with manipulatives and handouts. Also, participants will receive a thumb drive with worksheets and lecture notes.

Ronald Yoshimoto, M.Ed, M.S.W., Fellow of AOGPE

Ronald Yoshimoto has been in the field of education and dyslexia for over 40 years as a general and special education teacher in the public schools and private schools, a principal, educational diagnostician, social worker, counselor, teacher trainer and consultant. He was principal of a private school for dyslexics and gifted children for 18 years and has been training teachers in OG Basic, OG advanced. oG preschool, OG ELL and Multisensory Math for over 20 years and has created thousands of materials for teachers. After leaving the private school, he worked for the state of Hawaii department of education as a special education teacher and trainer. He has also founded an OG therapy Centre in Singapore and an organization based in Denver where they train and certify teachers in dyslexia, reading and OG. Special emphasis is public school teachers where he has modified OG for small group and whole classroom instruction. He also founded and is director of the Dyslexia and OG Institute of Hawaii. Ron has also been president of the Hawaii Branch of IDA and Vice-president of the Academy of Orton-Gillingham Practitioners and Educators. He has personal experience with dyslexia- his brother was dyslexic and he vowed that no child should endure the problems that his brother did in school
