Starting the Process

The treatment is educational .... To help the dyslexic student learn to read, write and spell, Language Skills Therapy offers educational therapy to teach your student the building blocks of language. Dyslexia never disappears. We teach language using a multisensory method and work with each student to understand their particular learning issues.

If you decide that a Language Skills Therapist might be appropriate for your student, the first step is to either e-mail or call the Language Skills
office.

We keep our fees affordable by only staffing our office part-time, so do not be alarmed if you reach the answering machine. Please leave a message and a phone number and our coordinator will return your call the next time she is in the office. If you e-mail, she will return your e-mail or call during that time as well.

After our coordinator has spoken with you and received the testing data, she will determine if our teaching methods will work with your student. If she determines that Orton-Gillingham instruction is appropriate then she will place your child with a therapist. At that point the parent, student and therapist will talk and determine when and where the teaching sessions will occur.
